Ingredients

  • For the Potatoes:

    • 4 large raw potatoes
    • Salt (to taste)
    • Potato seasoning (to taste)
    • Paprika (to taste)
    • Vegetable oil
  • For the Minced Meat Filling:

    • 700 g minced meat
    • Salt (to taste)
    • Ground pepper (to taste)
    • Coriander (to taste)
    • Meat seasoning (to taste)
    • 1 tsp corn starch
    • 3 tbsp breadcrumbs
    • 12 tbsp mayonnaise
    • 6 cloves of garlic, minced
    • 2 tbsp tomato paste
    • Dried parsley (to taste)
    • 200 ml water
  • Additional:

    • Parchment paper (soaked)
    • Cheese (optional, for topping)

Instructions

1. Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

2. Prepare the Potatoes

  • Peel and slice the potatoes into thick wedges or slices, depending on your preference.
  • Toss the potato slices in a large bowl with salt, potato seasoning, paprika, and a drizzle of vegetable oil.
  • Arrange the seasoned potatoes on a baking sheet lined with soaked parchment paper.

3. Prepare the Minced Meat Filling

  • In a large bowl, combine the minced meat with salt, ground pepper, coriander, and meat seasoning.
  • Add corn starch, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, minced garlic, and tomato paste to the mixture. Mix until evenly combined.
  • Gradually add the water while stirring to create a slightly moist but firm consistency.
  • Add dried parsley for an extra layer of flavor.

4. Assemble the Dish

  • Spread a generous layer of the minced meat mixture over each potato slice on the baking sheet.
  • For an indulgent touch, sprinkle grated cheese over the top of the meat mixture.

5. Bake the Potatoes

  • Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven.
  • Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the minced meat is fully cooked.
  • If you added cheese, bake until it melts and turns golden brown.

6. Serve

  • Remove the baked potatoes from the oven and let them cool slightly.
  • Transfer to a serving plate and enjoy warm with your favorite side dishes or dipping sauces.

Notes

  • Perfect Potatoes: Use starchy potatoes like Yukon Gold or russet potatoes for the best texture.
  • Soaked Parchment Paper: Soaking the parchment paper prevents sticking and ensures the potatoes cook evenly.
  • Custom Fillings: Add vegetables like finely chopped bell peppers, spinach, or mushrooms to the meat mixture for variety.
  • Garnish: Sprinkle freshly chopped parsley or dill before serving for an extra burst of freshness.
